GET PAID TO FLY HELICOPTERS!

Helicopters of America invites you to take your Private Pilot Helicopter Rating to the next level. Join our Commercial Pilot Program, and you'll gain the insight, knowledge and experience necessary to become a Commercial Helicopter Pilot. Get paid to do what you love: flying helicopters! Our Certified Flight Instructors will extend their own experience in the field as you learn the inside-out of becoming a Commercial Helicopter Pilot.

TO-DO LIST BEFORE YOU FLY

Before you can qualify to get your Commercial Pilot License, to fly helicopters, you must meet certain minimum requirements. These are listed below.

BEFORE YOU FLY, BE CERTAIN:

• YOU ARE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD - FLYING LESSONS CAN BEGIN AT ANY AGE, BUT YOU MUST BE 18 TO QUALIFY FOR THE COMMERCIAL PILOT RATING

• YOU HAVE A CURRENT THIRD-CLASS MEDICAL CERTIFICATE - WE WILL REFER YOU TO AN FAA PHYSICIAN - YOU WILL NEED A SECOND-CLASS CERTIFICATE TO GET YOUR COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE

• WEIGHT IS 225 POUNDS (102 KG) OR LESS

• YOU MUST BE ABLE TO READ, WRITE AND UNDERSTAND THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

As long as all of the above pre-flight requirements are met, you can qualify to get your Commercial Helicopter Pilot License through Helicopters of America.

GENERAL OUTLINE OF THE PROGRAM

You will be select one of our existing Certified Flight Instructors for one-on-one flying lessons, and you will stay with the same instructor from the start to finish of your flight training.

Getting your Commercial Pilot rating means you will have the authority, granted by the FAA, to fly helicopters for pay. This is a tremendous responsibility, and you must maintain a certain level of proficiency to obtain and maintain your Commercial Pilot Helicopter rating.

Training will be adjusted according to your present aptitude level and experience.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following are minimum requirements for getting a Commercial Pilot rating:

COMMERCIAL PILOT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

MUST HAVE AN EXISTING PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE - HELICOPTER

MUST COMPLETE 30 HOURS FLIGHT INSTRUCTION IN THE ROBINSON R22

MUST COMPLETE 75 HOURS SOLO FLIGHT IN THE ROBINSON R22

MUST HAVE AN ADDITIONAL 35 HOURS GROUND INSTRUCTION

These minimum requirements are established by the Federal Aviation Administration, but they do not reflect the actual time it may take for you to obtain your license. Student aptitude is an important factor in getting any rating for helicopter or fixed-wing pilot licenses.
